Hi , crystal's here posting.Week 5 work :Data Collection and Collation ; 1) Students to share with teachers on progress of data collection and on information related to the type of information/data needed for processing.2) Students to continue with data collection or designing of tools that will facilitate collection of data/information (eg. survey/interview questions).3) Students to proceed to processing / collating of information.4) Students to note different ways to present information (charts) and may refer to their subject teachers for advice.5) Students should start to work towards making a draft/ sample of the product, which will need to be refined at a later stage. Issues to dicuss incude the materials needed and the distribution of work among the team members. For the past two weeks ....What did your group have to work on?- We had to raise the awareness of the public about the pollution. What progress did your group make?- We found the answers to the key questions.
- We have found some ways that we can do to raise the public's awareness.
What did your group learn or find out about?- We found out how much litter is produced every year.
What does your group need to do for the following week?- Find out about the effects of pollution to Earth
Ok , this is all for week 5 :)
Byebye ^^
I suggest that we could do the survey (below) at:
- Pasir Ris
- Tampines
- Geylang
Um, did is just a joke to make the blog a bit lively. I would just like to know who are the targeting people you want to survey on. Thank you. :)

are Ming Xian.
^
(intentional)I have printed 10 sheets of the survey. I printed like 2 halves so later we can cut them into 2. So that makes 20 if you cant multiply. Instead of hand drawing the boxes, my smart-ness in me prompted me to put numbers and have the participants
CIRCLE them.
(i'm soooooo smart)This is what it looks like:
Never Rarely Sometimes Often
(supposed to be over there>>>)
(The numbers are supposed to be in line with them)
How often do you litter everyday? 1 2 3 4
How often do you see people litter? 1 2 3 4
Do you see lots of litter lying around in the 1 2 3 4
Community?
Do you often see pollution at beaches? 1 2 3 4
What are the forms of pollution?
________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________
Why do people litter?

(and a duplicate one on the other half of the paper)
I'm sure this will be acceptable. I don't want to print 10 more sheets as my ink "is running low" for 2 years already so i don't actually know when it will eventually
die.
btw,
lol @ you removing teh pics
lol @ how nice teh song is
lol @ my smart-ness
lol @ good english
Um, i hope this is right, but this is what i found.
The effects of pollution:
· Sediment can cloud water and make it difficult for aquatic plants to grow and aquatic animals to live.
· Excess nutrients can cause algae blooms.
· Bacteria and other pathogens can wash into swimming areas and create health hazards.
· Debris— plastic bags, six-pack rings, bottles, and cigarette butts—washed into water bodies can choke, suffocate, or disable aquatic life like ducks, turtles, and birds.
· Household hazardous wastes like insecticides, pesticides, paint, solvents, motor oil, and other auto fluids can poison aquatic life.
Polluted storm water can also negatively affect drinking water sources.

How would it benefit the environment if we prevent more pollution from happening?
~reduced liability in the event of a spill
~conservation of wildlife and habitat
~improved company image
~better materials management
~avoided state and federal fines (civil and criminal)
~avoided process disruption and "down time"
~increased public safety
~improved community relations
~sustained worker health and safety
~protection of private property
~reduced insurance
~reduced disposal and regulatory costs
